About

When Sharon M. O’Connor was a Registered Nurse working in an Emergency Room she always felt that there had to be a better way. She witnessed patient after patient coming in frightened by their medical conditions. Many people were more afraid of the procedures they were facing than the illness that brought them into the hospital.

“I knew that there had to be a way to reduce fear and accelerate patient healing and reduce the cost of health care.” says Sharon. With that in mind Sharon began studying other alternative approaches to medicine. This was surprising to some since all of her previous nursing training at the University of New Hampshire and Harvard University was traditional.

An open mind and lot of research led Sharon to become a Certified Hypnotherapist and Guided Imagery Practitioner. She began seeing patients in a private practice and later, Atlantic Complementary Medical Solutions was born. Founded as a place to encourage the integration of complementary medical modalities, Atlantic Complementary Medical Solutions has progressed into much more.

To share the value of these medical alternatives, Sharon is now producing and marketing Guided Imagery CD’s.. Sharon’s success in working with and in these newer medical approaches has helped her patients overcome chronic pain, prepare for medical procedures, recover from surgeries faster, eliminate anxiety, and reduce overall stress. While these methods to be new to some, Sharon is quick to point out that her methodology has been used for centuries. “Hypnotherapy is evidence based, effective, affordable and without adverse side effects. It manages underlying stress that impacts our physical and mental health, our ability to heal and ultimately our quality of life.”
