Chiropractors and ACMS

Seems as if chiropractors are on the same page as I am when it comes to wellness.   Thursday, I had lunch with a very enthusiastic chiropractor.  We compared notes about we each approach wellness.

Dr. Mark Lique,  Seabrook Chiropractic and Wellness, takes a three prong approach in his “Pathway to Wellness”.  It includes nutrition, movement and mental well being.

His comments make  so much sense.  Have you ever heard a Mother tell her child something like “Don’t give the dog that potato chip.  It’s not good for him!” But, it seems to be good enough for a child.  How cool would it be if we had an instruction book for rearing kids.  It could say “Let your child be a child-play outdoors with friend, get dirty, run, play games and sports.  Have some spontaneous FUN.  Eat wholesome, nutritious foods. (when did you last hear the word “wholesome” used?) Reduce Stress.  Let’s get back to basics.

We both conduct workshops about stress.  If you study the physiology of stress you’ll see that stess shuts down the reproductive process.  Why would you want to bring another child into an insecure world?  Or, as Mark said “If you are being chased by a tiger, who cares about becoming pregnant? “  How would the cost of health care change if we began by managing the stress of woman who want to be mothers?

In fact how would our lives change if we got off the merry go round of life and started really LIVING?
