Merck Creates Phony Peer Review Journal

Can this possibly be true?  Merck Creates Phony Peer Review Journal? It seems that Merck wanted some positive press for the Osteoporosis drug Fosamax, which has a chilling side effect called osteonecrosis of the jaw.  In lay terms, it means the jaw bone dies.

My husband, Peter A. Thomas, DMD, has shared with me descriptions and photos describing the outcome of dental procedures that some people experience after using Fosamax.  Trust me when I tell you, it is not pretty.  Of course, it only happens to a small percentage of women, but, in my mind even a  remote possibility that something of this nature could happen is not worth taking.

I have a friend, Linda,  who had two bone densitity tests  one year appart.  The second one showed such dramatic improvement that the doctor called to congratulate Linda.  What had Linda changed?  She walked daily. This means all her her bones can remain strong.
