Happy New Year!!
In our culture, The New Year brings a desire to create “Resolutions” to improve and enhance our lives. We tend to take them seriously and feel guilty when we “fall off the wagon” early on.
This year, how about a different approach.
Life is better when we are happy. How about creating some simple, affordable, attainable “goals” for the New Year? Let’s start with some changes that move us in the direction of what makes us happy and allow us to experience success?
Meditate. Start with just a few minutes in the morning. If you are unsure of where to begin, just sit quietly and focus on your breathing. You may choose to do some research about different methods and find one that suits you.
Walk a little more. Walking is a wonderful exercise for both body and mind. It’s free, simple, and green. Those who incorporate more steps into their daily routine (park farther from stores, use stairs instead of elevators, etc.) see big changes and tend to stick with the “program”.
Eat well. Plan ahead for healthy snacks and meals. Whole, natural, minimally processed foods save money and improve our health and mental well being.
Be gentle with yourself. Let go of the “shoulds” and do what’s right for you.
Get proper rest. Research is showing in a big way what we have always known anecdotally. Sleep is crucial for our physical and emotional health and well being.

I encourage you to print out and complete our Initial Assessment. Then choose one or two of these simple changes to incorporate into your life. After 2 weeks, complete the Follow Up Assessment and note any changes.
